Executives Celebrate Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub

On Tuesday, October 9, top executives joined the construction workers as they celebrated with an internal ‘topping off’ ceremony to commend the completion of the steel structure for Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub at MGM Grand Hotel & Casino. The significant occasion was attended by Scott Sibella, President and COO of MGM Grand; Neil Moffitt, CEO of Angel Management Group; Eric Barth, Director of Operations for Hakkasan Las Vegas; Mike Neubecker, Senior VP and CFO of MGM Grand; Nick McCabe, VP of Strategy for Angel Management Group; and Dave McKinnis, VP Engineering for MGM Grand. The ‘topping off’ ceremony is tradition when the base of the structure has been completed. The final beam was dressed with an evergreen tree and American Flag, which symbolizes that construction has gone without loss of life or limb and is a wish for good luck to the future inhabitants. Following words from Scott Sibella, President and COO of MGM Grand, the beam was hoisted into the air and put in place to a roar of cheers by the staff. Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub will incorporate an upscale dining experience created by Hakkasan Ltd. and multiple nightlife components from its partners Angel Management Group (AMG), a distinguished nightclub operator in the US. The notable development has taken over the former Studio 54 space and the main exterior façade at one of the busiest intersections on The Strip: Las Vegas Boulevard South and Tropicana Avenue. Construction began in February after the former Studio 54 officially closed its doors. Hakkasan Las Vegas Restaurant and Nightclub is scheduled to open Spring 2013 at MGM Grand.
